Adriaan Boshoff didn't just identify my talent, but my love for the arts.. This resulted in him taking me under his wing for a year of intensive study and training in his fine techniques of true art. The intense quality of each painting made the biggest impression on me, and made me decide that I too would produce great works of high quality of my own, and be a major success at it. Danie Smith was born in Westonaria in Johannesburg.

His parents traveled a lot and consequently he went to different schools in rural towns such as Roossenekal, Lydenburg and Phalaborwa. He matriculated at Middleburg High. Danie has had the good fortune of studying under the hand of South Africa's own Adriaan Boshoff. He learnt great skills from masters, but his talent is unique. Danie's work is in such high demand - his emphasis on quality is unequaled.

This has placed him and his works in the highest ranks of South African artists. He is an impressionist of high quality. Danie got married to Karien in 1993 and has three children, Chante (8yrs), Kailyn (4yrs), and Zandre (3yrs). His family is very dear to him, and therefore he uses them as models in many of his paintings. He started selling his paintings in 1985 and is only starting to expand to foreign markets now.
