Errol Boyley was born in July 1918 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.  For many years he has been recognized as one of South Africa’s leading landscape painters, having exhibited regularly for over 55 years in all the main centers.  His work has found place in important collections throughout the world, as well as in many private and public collections in South Africa, where they hold investment value. 

He is a painter of landscapes, still life, seascapes, figures and wildlife, and works mainly in oil.  These paintings of him capture the brilliant colour and beauty of the many moods of South African landscape.
